Viking Axe Necklace with Twin Wolves

I cast this axehead thick, with two wolves cut deep into the steel face alongside the old knotwork. It runs on a heavy woven chain, and I made it heavy enough on purpose. It hangs flat and holds still against the chest. It does not swing around. It sits where you put it and holds.

Every part of it is solid 316L steel, so it will not rust, fade, or turn your skin. Wear it in the shower, on the job, out in the weather. It asks nothing of you and it does not wear thin. It only settles in.

An axe is what a man used to clear a path and hold the line. The wolves are the instinct that drives him forward. I make this for the man who shapes his own life: the one who handles the heavy work and protects what he has built, without needing to say a word about it.

I go over every piece by hand before it ships. The blade edge and the corners of the head are rounded off, so it lies comfortable against the chest all day, with nothing sharp to hook on a shirt or scratch you. I only work it in solid 316L surgical steel. Cheap zinc-alloy pieces are hollow, they tarnish fast and they turn skin green. This one will not do either. It arrives in a dark wooden Viking gift box, ready to give the day it lands.
