VEGVISIR MJOLNIR HAMMER PENDANT - STAINLESS STEEL

Mjolnir Necklace with a Gold Vegvisir Compass

This is a broad hammer with the Vegvisir set into the face of it in gold, the eight arms of the stave running out from a center point. Knotwork fills the steel around it. It is a heavier piece with real presence, and on the chain it hangs square and holds still against the chest.

Two things sit on this one at once. The hammer is protection, and the Vegvisir is the old wayfinder, carried so a man would not lose his path in rough weather. Together they say something a lot of men know by heart: it is not enough to keep the people with you safe, you also have to know the way through and get them out the other side. I make this for the man others follow into bad weather, because they trust he can do both.

I go over every piece by hand before it ships. The corners of the hammer head are rounded, so it will not scratch your chest or catch on your shirt, and it wears easy from morning to night. It is solid 316L surgical steel all the way through, not the hollow zinc alloy you see sold everywhere that tarnishes in a month and leaves a green ring on your skin. It comes in a dark wooden Viking gift box, ready to keep or to give.
