This is a broad hammer with the Vegvisir set into the face of it in gold, the eight arms of the stave running out from a center point. Knotwork fills the steel around it. It is a heavier piece with real presence, and on the chain it hangs square and holds still against the chest.
Two things sit on this one at once. The hammer is protection, and the Vegvisir is the old wayfinder, carried so a man would not lose his path in rough weather. Together they say something a lot of men know by heart: it is not enough to keep the people with you safe, you also have to know the way through and get them out the other side. I make this for the man others follow into bad weather, because they trust he can do both.

The steel asks for very little. Wipe it down now and then with a soft dry cloth and keep it clear of harsh chemicals.
