A shield was the one thing a Norseman did not leave home without, the thing he kept between himself and whatever was coming. That is where this pendant starts: a round shield, ringed with runes, weighted so it sits like it means business.
Turn it over and it does a second job. Set into the face is the Vegvisir, the old wayfinder the Norse trusted to keep a traveller from losing the path. I gave it a compass core that actually turns under your thumb, so it is not a picture of a compass, it is one. A guard for the body on one side, a guide for the way on the other.
All of it is forged and weighted in stainless steel, so it carries like something meant to be carried, not worn for show. It is for the man who can defend what is his and still keep moving forward, the one who trusts the road will show itself a step at a time.
Materials & Sizing +
Forged 316L stainless steel, weighted and solid: hypoallergenic, waterproof, rust and tarnish resistant.
Pendant measures roughly 3.5 × 3.5 cm, on a 70 cm chain that sits comfortably against the chest.
The Rotating Vegvisir +
Set into the shield is a compass core that spins freely, so the Vegvisir can be turned by hand. A small mechanism with a real, satisfying motion, not a fixed decoration.
Spin it slowly and let it settle. It's meant to be handled, often.
