Two wolf heads meet at the top of this one, jaws locked onto a ring, and Mjolnir hangs from that ring below them. The whole piece runs on a braided chain and holds together as one long line, wolves at the top and the hammer at the bottom. It is heavy in the hand and hangs straight down the chest.
Fenrir was the one the gods would not risk. They bound him because of what he might do, not for anything he had done. Here he is with the hammer in his jaws, the very thing that held the world together, and he is holding it steady. That is the whole idea. The man with the most in him is the one people worry about most, and he is often the one who proves the steadiest. I make this for him. The one they underestimated, who took the responsibility and never dropped it.
